Cookie choices.
We use essential cookies to keep you signed in and remember your preferences. Google Analytics is optional.
Essential cookies
__Host-iw-session keeps your account signed in for up to 30 days. Signing out or requesting account deletion ends that session.
iw-cookie-choice remembers your analytics choice, its date and the preference version for up to 180 days. It is stored in your browser, not attached to your writer profile.
Optional analytics
Google Analytics loads only after you choose “Accept analytics,” and only on public discovery, beliefs, article and writer pages. It is not loaded on account, signup, editor or other management pages. It helps measure visits and browser/device usage. We configure its _ga and _ga_* cookies for up to 180 days without extending their lifetime on each visit; Google’s separate server-side data retention is governed by the analytics settings and its practices.
Our integration disables Google signals and advertising-personalization signals. We do not send account emails or private writing as analytics parameters. The cookie choice does not subscribe you to emails.
You decide
Use “Cookie settings” in the footer to accept or reject analytics. Both choices let you read and write. Rejection stops future collection by this integration and removes site-accessible analytics cookies. If analytics is already loaded on the page, rejection refreshes it. It cannot undo information already sent to Google.
Preferences apply to this browser. Clearing cookies, switching devices or a material change may require a new choice. External seller sites have their own cookies when you visit them.
